Cautionary tale

I finished a month ago, my seasonally inappropriate vest, 100% british wool (the yarn had straw on it and it smelled like the sheep, also it was in discount because it was the end of the stock). I threw it in the wash without thinking, after only wear it once... I now have a even more seasonally inappropriate, very itchy, felted bra.
