Who remembers that time cell phone service went out in all of america?

So I've been thinking about this recently and I'm just wondering, what the hell was it? Some kind of EMP blast? I believe this was last year but I feel like it was just brushed off? I mean it was pretty crazy... does anyone remember? Sorry if I'm not being specific
