Morocco Recommendations
Me and the wife are hoping to visit Morocco in middle to late April after Ramadan is over for about 10 days. We know someone who went there pre-COVID visiting Relais and Chateaux properties almost exclusively and they can't stop taking about it. They especially love there time at Dar Ahlam. Unfortunately we can't justify that price at the moment especially when it seems like we can get much better value for money elsewhere while still getting the same experience.
I have reached out to several agencies and got 2 vastly different quotes. I know we probably need a driver/guide/host to show us around. After that though I'm not totally sure. We would like to visit Fes, Essaouira, the Sahara desert, Marrakesh and then a couple stops in other places along the way. I guess my questions
- I’m so excited to go to Morocco but am lost on how to plan it.
- Is there a "best" desert camp to visit? (I have heard some of the camps look great on instagram but in person can be on top of each other?)
- is there a big difference between a room vs suite (as we are going to be moving around most days is the suite worthwhile compared to a room?)
- Looking here and at r/FATTRAVEL and people seem to prefer riads vs hotels. Any recommendations on raids to stay at? What exactly is the diffence? Is it size? I've also heard that the food is better and it feels more genuine.
- For people who have been any recommendations on where to eat? Things to do? See? Etc?
- What should we ABSOLUTELY NOT miss? Historical sites, resturants, museums, etc? Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated.
