CMV: the ban on Tiktok is a response to the Romanian election interference of Tiktok
People are asking why Tiktok is finally banned not realizing that a month ago Tiktok was linked to a Romanian election scam of candidate Calin Georgescu who exploded in Romanian tiktok out of no where which had the government suspicious as to why he exploded out of no where. His stance is Pro Russia and anti EU which is pretty bad for any eastern European nation that isn't part of Russias influence. There was an investigation that Tiktok aka Bytedance and Russia was behind this candidate in which even Tiktok influencers in Romania were summoned for investigation. In the end of December 17, it was said that Tiktok had a suspected breach of the Digital Services Act (DSA).
Now this isn't the first election interference TikTok/Bytedance has done (Taiwan elections), however this was the final tipping point for any accusations of Bytedance being a tool against other countries and since the US had finally announced that Tiktok is now banned, I believe that Europe would also follow with this decision as well as China continues to be suspicious around Europe like cutting underwater cables near Sweden.
