Has anyone made the jump from retail to insurance sales agent for an agency?

I’m a married 36 year old male, father of two little girls trying to earn more money for my family in an industry that I can grow in.

I've been in retail sales for most of my adult life, about 12 years in all. I've been burnt out for a while. Ive applied to SDR roles in tech industry, remote customer service in other industries to no avail. This opportunity sort of fell in my lap. I took the POP assessment and got one of the highest scores signaling success as a sales agent in the industry.

I'm excited but nervous about having to really prospect to keep my job. The agency wants you to sell life insurance more than anything and there are quotas just like any other sales job. The average annual salary is higher than other agencies which is hopeful.

I guess the point of this post is to hear others success stories specifically in the insurance space. Taking this path could lead to other opportunities in the future as the insurance/ financial sector is really booming with the advent and incorporation of Al technology.

Has anyone made a similar jump? How has an agency agent role been for you and your family financially and work/life balance?
