[New Gear] EOS R10!

I upgraded to the R10 from an EOS M100 that I’d been using since late 2019 and oh my god is it a huge upgrade!

I’ve been suffering from quite a depressive state lately and my M100 was making me legitimately begin to hate photography, the autofocus wasn’t the best, no eye af or subject detection, I always had to tap on the screen and hope the subject entered my AF point and it actually focussed, it was such a slow camera to shoot with and I really wanted an EVF, more buttons, a proper grip and a mic jack because I’m a film student at college right now.

I emptied my bank account and took some money from my trust fund to get this thing and I expected I might feel remorse because it was mainly a functional improvement as far as I was concerned with no image quality improvements but I am so glad I was wrong, everything is better, even the RAW Files are just easier to edit.

Eye AF is no joke, I’m obsessed, I can’t believe I’m getting the Eye AF algorithm all the professionals with R5s and R3s get to enjoy for under £1k.

I think I managed to take 400 photos of my dogs in the span of 40 minutes when I woke up yesterday morning, and 900 when I went out with family. That’s how exciting this thing is.

The 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM with this thing is a birdwatcher’s secret weapon, a cheap and cheerful 400mm equivalent lens with good image quality.

This camera has legitimately made me feel good about photography for once in ages now and I don’t regret the money I spent on it AT ALL.

If you’re looking at the R10 wondering whether or not to buy it, I would drop what you’re doing right now and just buy it already, it’s that good.
