Future-proof DIY NAS recommendation?
Hey folks,
I'm looking to build a DIY NAS for my Jellyfin media library. I'm currently using a Raspberry Pi 5 with an external 2 Tb HDD and its performance is lacklustre, especially on the encoding part. I'd also like to future-proof it with a 10 Gbs network card while maintaining a relatively small form factor.
Any tips on how to improve the config below, please? I couldn't find a mini-ITX MB with 4 SATA ports and don't feel like adding one through the NVMe slot, thus went with 2xHDD + 2xNVMe.
- NIC: ASUS XG-C100F
- HDD: 2x Seagate BarraCuda Laptop 4TB
- SSD: 2x Kingston FURY Renegade NVMe 2TB
- Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i-17xx
- RAM: Kingston FURY 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MT/s CL36 Beast Black EXPO
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- MB: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI
- Case: Fractal Design Ridge Black (PCIe 4.0)
- PSU: Seasonic Focus SGX-750 (SSR-750SGX)
Thanks in advance!
