Radiation with no lotion/cream?!

I'll be starting 4 weeks of radiations (20 sessions) in a couple of weeks and I met with the team yesterday to review the process and answer questions. I specifically asked about cream and the nurse said don't use anything! I told her that all my reddit friends indicated that definitely creams are needed, but she said no, don't use anything. She did say that I will meet with them weekly and if necessary they will suggest something for me to use. Has anyone else has the suggestion of no cream?

Edit: I googled cream vs lotion, so I guess we're talking cream as lotion is basically watered down cream.
