nexplanon questions

hey all! so i have an appointment to get my nexplanon implant inserted next week, and i’ve recently been getting horror stories of it on my feed and im freaking out!!🫠 has anyone in here had good experience with it? a lot of things i have seen have included bad weight gain and a constant period (both of which i do not want) so im very nervous and doubting if i should get it or not. im recently 18, but i’ve started to get very forgetful with the pill so thats why i’ve chosen to go with the implant considering i dont want the iud, and my mom recommended i don’t get the shot because she’s had bad experience with it. any kind of confirmation that getting the implant is a good idea would be appreciated 😭🙏
