Dogs post baby - give me hope
I purely want positive experiences - I’ve heard more than enough negative experiences and I get it 🤣 I just need a little bit of hope.
I’m being induced sometime next week (maybe even late this week, not sure yet 😅), and I am SO stressed about my dog. He’s a 3 year old golden retriever, and he’s my baby. I don’t say that lightly lol. He’s kind of everything to me. Don’t get me wrong, he annoys me plenty (level 10 clinger, listens only like 92% of the time, looooves to lick which.. it’s so mf annoying lolol), but he’s such a sweet baby. I just love him so much.
I see so so so many stories of “I hate my dog now that I have a baby,” and I understand to some degree. Of COURSE the relationship with your pets change once you’re a parent, I have no judgement about that at all. I just cannot imagine a world that I would HATE my dog.
I am prepared for my relationship with him to change, my whole world is about to change a LOT. I just can’t wrap my head around the whole “omg this dog is nothing but a nuisance, I hate the dog” thing I see so often.
Please please please share some positive experiences about your relationship with your dog(s) after having a baby, if you have them! I just really love my dog, and I need a little bit of hope that I’ll still love him once we have the baby 😅
