transporting betta in car?

i’m going home from college for winter break soon and i’m trying to figure out how to transport my betta home. it is a 4 hour drive, and i bought a small .5 gallon tank to put him in for the car because i have a 5 gallon tank and i can’t really carry that when it’s full. what im worried about is where to put him so he will transport safely. should i put him on the seat and buckle him in? or maybe in the middle console?

if anyone has any experience w this please let me know ur methods :)
