Frickin Santa.

I guess I got lucky when I pulled this santa auto relic. I gave it to my son, who is still a believer. Then I looked on eBay and discovered two offers sold for $500 each?

Honestly that makes no sense. Alternately it makes too much sense. Aren’t all card prices just some artificial scarcity cross referenced by the subjects popularity? And who is more popular than Santa?

Anyway I would test it but now this is my son’s favorite card. I told him you can get money for this thing, let me sell it. He said “I’m a card collector, not a collectible card seller.” Neither of which i knew until that point.

The thing is he’s 8. Next year no way he still believes. At that point this goes from cherished proof of Santa’s existence to “emblem of the lie I was told since birth.” I’d like to avoid that future and put $500 in his piggy bank. I may just do it, still thinking.
