Bangalore heals my mental health.
Dear Bangalore, thank you for being so frickin' amazing.
I moved to this city about 10 years ago, and have called it home ever since. I've traveled to several countries and lived in many cities within India, but nothing comes to the peace I feel when I'm here. This present weather amplifies this feeling, and I'm writing my heart out here.
I live on the outskirts of the city and work from home. Yeah, that's also the reason why I'm so happy (sorry, office-goers who have to face the traffic). I spent almost two weeks in Mumbai earlier this month and... I can't believe the very place I grew up in feels so utterly noisy and chaotic. I guess it always felt like that until I moved to Bangalore.
I'm a bit more sensitive to sound. Especially when people talk loudly or play loud music. Ironic, because I'm a huge heavy metal and rock fan! Fortunately, I don't face those problems in my area.
My life now unfolds in two places—Bali (my girlfriend stays there) and Bangalore. The to-and-fro feels natural to me because both these places are my places of comfort, given the kind of people I meet. I can't thank y'all enough for keeping this city so sane, where most people respect and understand each other's personal spaces. Can't imagine living anywhere else.
Thank you for everything. Bangalore will always have my heart.
