What originally caused that Swiss salaries usually have more "disposable" money left at the end of the month, even taking into account food, rent, health insurance, and other costs?

In most other countries, a lot of people live paycheck to paycheck, and can't really save off money even if living frugally. I know it happens also sometimes in Switzerland, but most people here usually can save quite a bit if they don't have an expensive lifestyle. This is quite different from most countries in the world. Where does this come from?
