Winter Vs All season tires?

Tire question here!

I currently have old cracked winter tires and am considering to all season to cut down on yearly costs (around $350 for the year). Is this a bad idea? Im guessing new all season tires and better than my 10 year old winter tires? Or should I buy new winter tires and continue to pay for tire storage?

Has anyone had issues with all seasons in toronto?
