Tell me about the worst leadership you've ever had in the Army.

I'll go first.

I had a BTRY Commander whose first act was to deny every new father's parental leave because we needed "numbers" at NTC. This was immediately after our BTRY had just returned from NTC under the previous commander, who had promised the new dads they would receive their paternity leave on the back end. One of those new dads was so physically disabled that he couldn't raise his arms, but he was forced to sit in the LMTV in the box for a month anyways. He also then denied that soldier's MEB. When I got divorced, I requested an ETP to allow me to continue to make my mortgage payments, which he denied, but after sitting on it for 6 months. So, I had no choice but to file a 5960 to stop BAH, which was backdated to my divorce date, so I owed the Army over $16k and was still on the hook for my mortgage. Every member of my BTRY has a similar story, which leads me to believe the CDR goes out of his way to sabotage his soldiers. He has no children and spends nights locked in his office, instead of going home, which means releasing the BTRY by 17:00 is absolutely not a priority.

I'll have a 4 piece McNugget and an AER loan, please.
