How often do players use relics in HRE towers?

Edit: thanks for the replies, do you guys actually use them offensively/outside of the base.? judging by these comments it sounds like people just dump them in their bases for protection of the relic itself as opposed to emplacement benefits.

I don't watch much caster content, so not aware of what pros do with relics. but I always thought the relics in defenses was a neat idea, but wondered if their bonuses are worth the effort?

I realise it's better than nothing and gives some fair boosts(especially range) But is it worthwhile to build towers and keep shifting a relic forward? Especially with the low dps on towers in castle age onwards.

Is it better to build one strategic castle and just leave the relic there?
