Hypothetically, what’s the best current personal catch-all?

Have a friend who puts about 75k-100k in non-category spend. Of course there are great non-amex options but they probably have a good shot for getting a Centurion card if they put all their spend on Amex cards. We were thinking, with the EDP cut out of the lineup, what’s the current best catchall option?

Platinum: 1x for earning but the purchase and return protection is nice. Also 75k in annual spend gets you guest lounge access (although this isn’t worth forgoing better earning imo)

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant: 2x is decent and usable. 60k gets you a ECA, meh

Delta Reserve: 1x earner but 1 MQD/$10 in spend. NYC resident so Delta is an option when flying out of JFK. 7500-10k MQDs plus the 2500 head start would be Gold or Plat with some light spend. He already has a Reserve card (wanted the white 747 and the credits make sense), so AF isn’t much of a concern.

Hilton Surpass: 3x for earning and 15k gets a FNC. Thinking maybe he picks up two of these, and puts the rest of the spend on something above. This seems like the best option though.

Idk, nothing really stands out as the obvious recommendation after the Surpass’ FNCs. Anyone else have any thoughts?
