Good fast charging results today
This is my second ID4, but outside of this, I also have a MG ZS EV too (I brought that for my ex wife before the marriage ended, and she didn't want to keep it). The ZS theoretically can charge at nearly the same speed as the ID4, but I've never managed to get more than 58Kw on a fast charger with that, even at single digit charge levels and having preheated the battery first.
I've had this one since August, and it's only the second time I've had to fast charge it, so I was interested to see how quickly it got up to charge. Plugged in the ID at 9% and peaked at 140Kw and settled into 110-120Kw between at 60-70% and managed a full 9-80% in 35 mins. Can't complain at that, especially with no preconditioning along the way.
If only all chargers were this stable and more EV's actually charged at a decent rate, EV adoption would be a far easier thing.
