International switch to domestic after getting accepted

Edit: But I’m not sure how to mange it because I need to apply while working but I need to get the visa after sem start so how should I sort out that timeframe?

I’m really curious if any of you guys managed to switch from international to domestic status on your own (not through family visas or anything). Here’s my plan, but I’d love to hear if anyone’s tried something similar or has tips!

Here’s what I’m thinking:

• Go to nursing school here
• Apply for a visa once I graduate and land a nursing job
• While waiting for the visa, hopefully get accepted through grad entry
• Start as an international, then switch to domestic when the visa comes through

Anyone done something like this? Let me know how it went!
