What is the literal meaning of Uganda?

I'm doing a project of literally translating the names of all the countries into my language, but I can't find anywhere on the internet the meaning of the word Uganda. In my search I was only able to find that the name came from the name of the kingdom of Buganda which in turn came from the name of a local ruler (?) and that's where I got stuck. I would appreciate it if anyone happens to know the answer or can direct me to a source that might be able to help me with this.
