Our journey to greencard
I was an F1 student when I got married to my husband who is a US citizen (born in the states). We got married in March and we filed in August. I was in different state than my husband because of my school. we had a joint bank account. I got my work authorization within a month. I moved to where he lives, a month ago and during that time they scheduled an interview for me around my school location for February 20 something....because I forgot to change my physical address. So, I had to cancel it in order to be able to reschedule it to where I live now with my husband. We were quite nervous doing it, thinking that it might push our case far. The interview was cancelled but instead of rescheduling, they approved our case last week. our case was around 5 months long. We did use a lawyer but now that I think about it, it seems like very doable by ourselves. Please let me know if you have any questions.
