[UPDATE 2] NAID 40514714 National Archives file unit titled "Zodiac" in relation to UAP - message received and order submitted (FINALLY)

See my original post, the first update, and the online file unit.

Hello everyone! I'm back with another update on the status of the "Zodiac" file unit. It took over 6 weeks of back and forth (the majority of that time just waiting), but I finally received word back. Screenshots of the emails are at the bottom.

TLDR

I have been informed that it may take 90-120 days for me to actually receive the copies from the file unit; however, I did get more information about the contents of the file unit. If anyone lives in the area that can go there to copy/scan/upload the records, it would be much appreciated to avoid the waiting period.

File Unit Information

Here is the information they gave me regarding the file unit:

Records of U.S. Air Force Commands, Activities, and Organizations (Record Group 342)
Entry P 26
Central Decimal Correspondence Files, 1919–1950
Box 114
File: Zodiac (452.3 Zodiac 1922)
Location: 190/70/24/07
This file is approximately 35 pages, tabbed

Shipment and Copies

Here are the quick notes of what they said regarding the shipment and the copies

  • $0.80 per page
  • 90-120 day delivery estimate AFTER "verification"
  • Quality of scanned documents will be less than 300dpi
  • Page counts are estimated and the actual number may vary

Conclusion

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It seems like a somewhat fair amount of pages; however, the fact that it is in 1922 is peculiar. It could have nothing to do with UAP, even though it was uploaded to archives.gov at the same time as many other UAP uploads and the fact that it is in an Air Force records group and the fact that the response to my FOIA request said that specifically UAP-related Zodiac records were maintained by NARA. Time will tell.

I very much appreciate the work of the staff there; however, it is nevertheless frustrating how long it is estimated to take to receive these copies. I would like to ask those in the community who live near this particular National Archives location to please schedule an appointment and copy/scan/share these documents with the sub ASAP. I would appreciate it if you could PM me as well so I can continue to keep track of everything and get live updates. The sooner we know what this file unit is, the better. I already have work-related plans to go that direction this summer, but if anyone else can do it sooner, please do so.
