Budget Hotel Recommendations Near NYC for a December Getaway?

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I (soon-to-be fiancé!) are planning a winter getaway to NYC. We’re coming from Montreal by car, so we’re open to staying a bit further out as long as we can leave the car somewhere and take public transport to the city. We’re hoping to stay within a budget of $100-$130 USD per night.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

1.  Location: We’d prefer not to stay in Manhattan due to high prices. We’re open to areas like NJ, Bronx, Brooklyn, or even a bit farther, as long as public transport (30-40 min max) can get us to the center of NYC.
2.  Room: Ideally, a double room with a private bathroom.
3.  Parking: Since we’re driving in, recommendations for hotels with parking options or nearby paid parking would be great.

We’re flexible with dates between December 23 and January 1, so any recommendations or advice would be super helpful!
