Dr Pershing Experiments

Having just seen the most recent episode, “The Convert”, I’m still not entirely sure what exactly Dr Pershing is trying to achieve.

In “The Siege”, we saw that he was trying to transfuse Grogu’s blood into what we now can assume were clone bodies (we know that he’s a cloner/genetic engineer who was driven by the fact that his mother’s heart failed, to work on cloning healthy hearts to save lives) to see if they could develop his force abilities.

However, we learn that the blood wasn’t accepted by the body and the hosts died. He recommends that they suspend operations, as the volunteer (who I assumed was Gideon) would likely meet the same fate.

In “The Convert” he states that the Kaminoans can clone someone from a single strand of DNA, hypothesising that by combining two strands from different donors in a single body, they can possess the best attributes from each.

So my question is, was the idea simply to combine Grogu’s strengths with the strengths of someone like Gideon (who probably wanted an army of super soldiers with force abilities) through a simple blood transfusion from the former to the latter?

And how does that help the New Republic (I guess if people had some of Grogu’s attributes they would live longer, healthier lives)?
