Cost comparison between Tesla and RAV4
Looking for some help from someone smarter than me. I’m considering getting a Tesla (open to any model, don’t care too much about optics). I drive roughly 20,000-25,000 miles a year for work, many of those miles are on the highway and I love the idea of using FSD as much as possible so that I can work more in the car and less at home.
I currently have a 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid that gets roughly 36-40 mpg on the highway. I live in Arizona and paid about $3.30/gal for gas today. My company gives me .56 cents/mile.
I rent my home, so would need to get approval to install a charger, but there’s also a station right up the street.
Any thoughts on the cost savings between the options?
EDIT: Felt like I should add that I bought the RAV4 for $23,000 at 35k miles, resale value is closer to $30,000. So I could theoretically sell the RAV4 for profit and put it towards the Tesla.
