Follicular ovulation study?

I had my first follicular (ovulation) ultrasound today on Day 10 of my period. The technician did it abdominally. Was it right? I’m currently on my second cycle of letrozole ( 5mg from day 3 - day 7 of period). The first round of letrozole was unmonitored. In the first cycle, I got my period on Day 31 of the cycle. I have PCOD and never got my period on my own unless induced by provera.

The technician suggested to come again on Day 12 of my period (day after tomorrow) and told me to have a full bladder so we can test.

Is ovulation study done abdominally or vaginally?

Also here’s what my reports read: Uterus: anterverted, normal in size measures 3.1cm x 3.8cm x 7.1cm. No focal myometrial lesions. Endometrium measures 5.5mm.

Both ovaries: are bulky (left > right) with echogenic stroma with multiple tiny peripheral cysts (size ranging from 5-7mm).

Right ovary: 2 x 3.2 x 3.1cm

Left ovary: 2.6 x 3.3 x 2.8 cm

Impression: Bilateral ovaries show polycystic ovaries
