Ari Shaffir is a fantastic comic whose career has been overshadowed by controversy

I just watched his new special, "America's Sweetheart" last night. It wonderfully toes the line between the controversial and the absurd. The special before that, "Jew," was great too. Basically his own cultural experience as a FuckU to the Edinburgh comics who said Americans can't make topical specials.

He's a true master of his craft, but unfortunately he's most known for Kobe and the ecstasy "prank" with Bert. It's truly a shame. He should be lauded more than those in both his circle and the comedy world at large.
