I’m the market to go mirrorless!

Hi all! I am a 16 year Nikon user who finally wants to give mirrorless a go. I’ve been following Sony cameras for a while now and decided I want to go with the brand. I’m here looking for recommendations on what road I should take as far as body and gear. The internet is full of mixed reviews and it’s starting to get a little overwhelming lol.

I am a full time portrait photographer (family and pet) and work part time for local businesses for product and food photography with video content for ads and such. My current gear consists of Nikon D800, D850, 85mm, 50mm, 24-70 and a 16-35. I eventually want to convert my whole setup but, for now, I just want to add a mirrorless to the mix.

I am setting a budget for $2k or less. Assuming that should be sufficient enough for a body and a single lens. So - with that - what body would you recommend and what lens would work great for all of the above? Reasons why and photos from the camera would be an added bonus!
