Experience with songtown?

Hey, I'm a songwriter in a band and I'm looking to branch out into songwriting on my own/collaborating behind the scenes for people. I've got a few avenues I've been exploring on my own but I recently came across songtown.

I checked it out and on paper it seems alright. I'm kinda just looking for people to write for and get my tunes out there in a capacity beyond my shitty demos. And from the marketing you can never tell if there is actually a decent and active/serious community. Having been in the music business for a while now I get a little guarded when websites or services seem to intentionally write vague stuff like "our industry pros do this that and the other" or "we're your connection into the real music business". Sounds like exactly what I want but I've been burned a bunch with these things.

I did some reddit research and the few comments I found about songtown were extremely positive, but way too positive, bordering on propaganda. It felt like a songtown intern being tasked with brand evangelicalism.

So I'm wondering if anybody has had any direct experience with them? Are they a scam? The real deal? Somewhere in between?
