Should I buy The Binding of Isaac? Which version?

People have recommended it to me and I have read so many good reviews, but when I go to steam I get lost with so many versions.

Does it get too repetitive? I enjoy RPGs and action RPGs of almost any kind, but I'm afraid I might get bored quickly.

If I decided to buy it, which version should I purchase in Steam?
