how can i improve my sat score?

i'm a freshman currently, took my sat about two months ago and got an 1000. i had about a week and a half to prepare with no prior practice. i'm hoping to have a 1500+ score when i'm a junior. i have a lot of trouble with the math portion. does anyone have any advice to where to start improving?
