Is Australia an option?
Good morning everyone :) so, in my general search to escape the current sinking ship thay is the US, I have begun to look more at Australia. My question is, for those of you located there, what's your take? How's life? How's work? Is getting a job there something viable based on your experience? I've seen that there are a number of ecology centric jobs that aren't teaching as well. I suppose saying I have a background in Ecology/Evolution and Genetics would be helpful information as well :) just looking for some general thoughts
(P.s. I am vaguely aware of things like the skills assessment but saw for teaching that seemed to mainly apply to k-12, not uni, and didn't really see anything related for ecology jobs in general, though it has only been a twenty minute search at 5am so 🤷♂️)
