Are catalytic converter thefts happening still or nah?

As recently as a year ago, it seemed like a day wouldn't go by without people saying their catalytic converters were getting stolen, with news stories a plenty. I know there were some busts and sting operations, but I feel like there has been a distinct drop in those issues in 2024.

Did the added scrutiny from government/law enforcement work? Is this still happening?
