HOW did the ghost find me? Help?

I was hiding in a closet on tanglewood to try and drain my sanity to 25% (last achievement I needed for a perfect game). It was a shade so I wasn’t too worried about it being a super active or aggressive ghost anyways. The ghost was all the way in the dining room and I was in the closet next to the nursery.

I always abandon all of my electronics pretty far from my hiding spot when I do this objective just in case. I also mute my mic. I did have a camera in my inventory but I didn’t have it out. I had nothing in my hands actually, no head cam or anything. I was just chilling in the closet and listening to some music while I waited for my sanity to drain.

The ghost started hunting from the dining room, first hunt of the game too, walked past my hiding spot twice, then randomly yanked both closet doors open and killed me. I’m so confused as to how it knew where I was or how it detected me? How can I prevent this? There’s no way it should have found me.
