How much are yall spending on groceries?

We’re a family of 4, the youngest only being 10 months and just starting solids regularly. And I swear even when groceries originally went up in price I could feed us for $600 a month… with an occasional fast food trip here or there on top of that price. But recently that number has been creeping up and getting closer and closer to $1000 a month. Which makes it our highest bill (by far) outside of the mortgage …….

I don’t do like organic or speciality shops or anything extra expensive. I try to buy on sale. I do tend to get fresh fruit and vegetables and meat with only some processed/pre packaged stuff, mostly for snacks, but I swear last week I was thinking maybe I’d just give in to the processed stuff and save us some money - and it didn’t look like it was going to be any cheaper.

Am I crazy? I feel like I must be doing this wrong and really need to lower the bill……

Edit: omg thank yall so much. Yes! We were doing about $150 a week…. Then it was $200ish. But then recently it’s $250/week. The times I can keep it at $200 or below I end up running back out 2/3x during the week for another $20 of stuff here or there. Sounds like everyone is spending about the same…..
