What is something that you always hoped to get as a kid but never got?
What are things in your childhood that you wanted, but your parents never bought you? Bonus: did you ever buy yourself the item/s in your adult years?
I desperately wanted those multi-colored Sketchers, specifically this baby blue pair that had pretty colors in it. My parents never would buy anything name brand.
I also wanted an American Girl doll. But once again, name brand and too expensive. However, my lovely, creative mom took me to this craft store that had boxed of different crafting materials and we bought this doll head attached that you had to stuff and some different clothes for her. She was the same size as an American Girl doll and looking back, she was special because she was unique.
Not that we never got it, but it was always a once-in-a-blue-moon special occasion treat because my mom mostly cooked meals at homd...McDonald's. I would remember driving by and looking out the window, not saying anything but desperately hoping my parents would turn and stop at McDonald's. I'd be sad as we passed it. I didn't like to ask for things that much.
Last thing I desperately wanted - a Ginger Spice Spice Girls Doll to complete my set, the one in the red dress. It was sold out so fast because if I remember correctly, she left the group at the time and everyone bought that doll up. I remember my mom even calling the stores or the company for me asking if they sold it. I got one from a different set; she had a green dress. Never the same....then one day a couple years ago, at a used book store, I found her. She was like 10 bucks. I bought her and now have the complete set.
