As this is a 50 pipe with no spotlights, things will be scored differently than the usual. Please read the should you pull the pipes information section to see how this pipe will be evaluated.
‘Should you pull the pipes’ information
Pipes are given points based on four different factors. A percentage of points go towards each of these factors. These factors include:
- (30pts) High-Ends – How good each spotlight is in the pipe.
- (10pts) High-End type – Whether there are more drivers, karts, or gliders. Usually the best go in the order of drivers, gliders, then karts, so a pipe with more drivers will be given more points than a pipe with more karts.
- (10pts) Other Items – What Supers and possibly Normals are available in the pipe.
- (35pts) Pipe Elements – The odds of getting High-Ends and Supers compared to Normals. How many items in the pipe are also considered.
All High-End groups will be given a score out of 10. These scores out of 10 will then be added and converted to fit into the 30% ratio, and then the High-End type value will be stated. High-Ends that are new with the current tour will be graded based on their item/skill and how they perform in the ranked cups of the tour. They will not be graded based on their favoured maps. This is because all new content starts out with few maps, and this is updated overtime. However, returning High-Ends will also be graded based on their favoured maps, as these will most likely not be changed too much in the future.
These points will add up to 85, but then they’ll be converted to a score between 0 and 100. If the score is 50 or higher, you should probably pull this pipe.
Sunset Tour Princess Pipe
This pipe features ten High-Ends and no spotlights, including Fairy Daisy (Driver), Wedding Peach (Driver), Prancer (Kart), Gilded Prancer (Kart), Head Honcho (Kart), Sweet Daytripper (Kart), Royal Parachute (Glider), Daisy Glider (Glider), Silver-and-Gold Hearts (Glider), Silver Bells (Glider).
Ranked Cups
The current ranked cup for this week is the Peach cup, which includes Sunset Wilds, Neo Bowser City R, and Mario Circuit R.
The second is the Fire Bruh cup, which includes Dino Dino Jungle T, Kalimari Desert 2R, and Sunset Wilds T.
Fairy Daisy Evaluation
Fairy Daisy hasn’t been seen since her debut in the Flower Tour, so most of you probably won’t have her. Her special skill is Heart which is one of the worst in the game. She’s been a low tier driver in my tier lists for quite a long time, but she’s moved up a little bit in this most recent tier list, ranking just above average for the Highest Point Potential tier list, and just below average for the Overall Efficiency tier list. So we’ll say she’s roughly average.
For ranked she’s top shelf in Mario Circuit R of the first ranked cup, but she’s pretty useless here as you can use Toad instead who has a far superior item.
Wedding Peach Evaluation
Wedding Peach hasn’t been seen since the Peach Tour, a bit more recent than the Flower Tour. Her special skill is Triple Mushrooms which are a great skill to have, one of the best. She’s a very underrated driver, ranking as the third best driver in the game for both types of tier list. She unlocks her full potential when levelling her up, and she has a great item so that’s a plus.
For ranked, she is available top shelf in Sunset Wilds T of the Fire Bruh cup. It’s quite a difficult top shelf including Black Yoshi, Builder Mario, and Captain Toad. Captain Toad is available in next week’s pipe, and Black Yoshi is on a purchasable banner right now. Chances are you’ll probably need her here.
Drivers Total
So you have one of the best drivers here who is also likely needed for ranked this tour, paired with an average driver who isn’t needed in ranked this tour. I think these High-Ends deserve an 8/10 for that. Even if you get Fairy Daisy instead she still has her uses.
Prancer Evaluation
The Prancer was released as a spotlight with Fairy Daisy in the Flower Tour and hasn’t been seen since. Its special skill is Slipstream Plus which is the absolute worst kart skill. Looking at the new tier list, it ranks just above average in both types of tier list for a kart. Not bad at all.
It is available top shelf in Sunset Wilds of the Peach ranked cup along with Sunset Clouds, Offroader, and Crawly Kart. Offroader is a permanent kart High-End, as well as being a spotlight in the first pipe. You may have it, but probably. The Crawly Kart was on a purchasable banner last tour, and the Sunset Clouds are on a cheap purchasable banner this tour. You may have bought the Sunset Clouds as it’s cheap, so I’d say about half of you have a top shelf kart here.
Gilded Prancer Evaluation
The Gilded Prancer has been seen once in a pipe on its debut and also in a purchasable banner. Its special skill is Jump Boost Plus which is one of the better kart skills. Looking at the tier list, it ranks pretty high in both tier lists, quite a bit above the regular Prancer. So this is definitely a great kart you may want.
It's not available top shelf at all in ranked this tour.
Head Honcho Evaluation
The Head Honcho was released on a purchasable banner in the Summer Festival Tour, and it has been a permanent High-End kart in the pipe since. Its special skill is Mini-Turbo Plus which is the best kart skill. It’s also known as one of the best karts in the game. It ranks as the third best for Highest Point Potential, and it ranks as the best for Overall Efficiency. Definitely not a kart you want to miss out on.
For the Fire Bruh ranked cup, it is top shelf in Sunset Wilds T along with Dark Trickster, DK Maximum, Clanky Kart, and Clackety Kart. These are all just old spotlights from previous tours, so it’s unlikely you’ll have any of them. However the Clanky and Clackety karts are spotlights in next week’s pipe, so if you’re planning on pulling that pipe you should get one of these two to use.
Sweet Daytripper Evaluation
The Sweet Daytripper debuted in the Peach Tour and hasn’t been seen since. Its special skill is Rocket Start Plus which isn’t one of the best. However, it is surprisingly one of the best karts in the game. It ranks as the 6th best in the Highest Point Potential tier list and 3rd best in the Overall Efficiency tier list. Pretty great indeed.
It is not top shelf in ranked at all this tour.
Karts Total
So let’s look back on these karts. There isn’t a single bad one, they’re all above average, Prancer being the worst of the 4. 2/4 of the karts may be needed for ranked so that’s a plus. And we’re also talking about 2 of the best karts in the game, one being a permanent kart in the pipe. That sucks a little bit, but you probably still don’t have it. I think a fair total for these karts is 9/10. A really good selection here.
Royal Parachute Evaluation
The Royal Parachute has made multiple appearances now in pipes, you may still not have it yet though. Its special item is Red Shell which is pretty good. You don’t know how good these gliders are yet as I haven’t made the latest tier list. However, I have the data for that so I can say where these gliders rank with this new tier list algorithm. The Royal Parachute is very good on the Highest Point Potential tier list, and pretty good on the Overall Efficiency list. It’s definitely worth it if you don’t have it yet.
For the first ranked cup, it is available top shelf in Sunset Wilds, along with Wicked Wings, Sunset Balloons, and Chocolate Donut. The Sunset Balloons are a spotlight item in the first pipe, and the Chocolate Donut hasn’t been seen since its debut. Wicked Wings have been seen many times in pipes and purchasable banners, so it’s possible you have them by now. You’ll likely need this glider here though.
Daisy Glider Evaluation
The Daisy Glider hasn’t been seen since its debut in the Flower Tour. Its special item is Super Horn which is the worst item to have on a glider. On the new tier lists, it ranks around average for both types of tier list. Not bad at all, but not one of the best.
For the Peach ranked cup it is available top shelf in Mario Circuit R. However you have the Oilpaper Umbrella here which most of you will have by now, and it has a superior item, so you won’t be needing the Daisy Glider here.
It is also top shelf in the Fire Bruh cup in Sunset Wilds T. Top shelf items include Silver Bells, Dragon Wings, Sunset Balloons, and Gold Crane. This is quite a difficult top shelf, but you may have Gold Crane or Dragon Wings by now as they’ve appeared a few times. Silver Bells is also here which are another High-End item in this pipe. You’ll likely need one of these two items, but both of them aren’t going to get the bonus for being needed here. The Daisy Glider will get the points for being top shelf here as it is the better one of the two.
Silver and Gold Hearts Evaluation
We’ve seen the Silver and Gold Hearts a few times now, mainly in purchasable banners, but other than that they’ve only appeared once in a pipe. Their special item is Bullet Bill which is awful, one of the worst skills to have on a glider. On the tier list it’s decent. It ranks above average for both types of tier list, but nothing amazing.
It is not top shelf in ranked this tour.
Silver Bells Evaluation
The Silver Bells debuted in the Peach Tour and haven’t been seen since. Their special item is Super Horn which is trash, the worst skill to have on a glider. On the tier list it’s just okay. Around average, a bit below the Daisy Glider.
As stated before, they are available top shelf in Sunset Wilds T of the Fire Bruh cup, but Daisy Glider is also top shelf here. The Daisy Glider is better so this one will receive no points for being available here.
Gliders Total
So let’s sum up these gliders. The Royal Parachute is great and you may just need it for ranked this tour. The others are alright, but not amazing. Silver-and-Gold Hearts are the best of the three, ranking above average, but they’re not needed for ranked this tour. You may need one of the other two gliders for ranked though. I think these gliders deserve a score of 6/10. The only one you really want here is the Royal Parachute unless you need one of the other two for ranked. The Royal Parachute has also appeared in pipes many times, so you may already have it and it will likely appear again at some point.
High-Ends Total
Adding up these scores, the total score for these High-Ends is 23/30. That is a very good score!
High-End Type Value
So here we have only 2 drivers, 4 karts, and 4 gliders. Which puts it into a ratio of 1:2:2. As we know, drivers are the most important to have, some may even say gliders are, but they’re both very important. Having less drivers than karts and gliders is quite a shame, so I’ll give this a 4/10. Could be much worse though.
Other Items Evaluation
Let’s take a look at the other items in this pipe. Well, there isn’t too much to talk about here. It’s quite literally just the same Normals and Supers as usual. That isn’t exactly bad though, you have a chance of getting everyone you usually can get instead of being limited to just a few. I’ll give these items an average score of 5/10.
Pipe Elements Evaluation
What are the odds of getting these things? Let’s take a look. First of all this is a 50 pipe which is awesome. You’ll likely get High-Ends quicker without spending loads of rubies. You’ll be getting 1 of each type of High-End. It’s not that great for odds, but to be fair it’s just the same odds as it would be in a standard 100 pipe. It’s not a massive deal, but could be much better. The Supers ratio is trash though compared to Normals. This pipe is filled with Normals, and that really sucks.
I think I’ll give the pipe elements here a 17/35. The only benefit really is that it’s a 50 pipe, so you shouldn’t have to spend as many rubies trying to get these High-Ends.
So should you pull the Princess Pipe?
The total score for this pipe is 47/85, which is equivalent to 55/100. It’s a decent score and I would recommend this pipe. The driver and kart High-Ends are great, the glider one’s not so much but they’re not terrible. It’s not really the High-Ends that are to blame for a low score though, but more the other features of the pipe. But it’s still a decent score anyway. The Week 2 pipe also seems to be very good. I’m not too sure if it would be better than this one though, I recon they’ll be about the same score.
So really if you are lacking all of these High-Ends or don’t have many of them, I would go for this pipe!
