AC in winter
(Formelery in German, was deleted by mod - now in English)
Hello everyone,
silly question: my Mini Cooper SE 2021 has an air conditioning system installed. So far so good. Now that the weather is so hot, the windows fog up quickly. To save electricity, I only ever have the air conditioning on when it's supposed to, and never in winter (my first winter now).
A dryer cartridge is usually installed in the combustion engine, which means that the air conditioning dehumidifies and removes the misting.
How does the air conditioning work in the Mini? In the same way? Does it also dehumidify or does it use an electrically cooled Peltier element?)
Misunderstanding on my part: the dryer cartridge is only responsible for the cooling circuit and penetrating moisture. So the air conditioning will dehumidify in winter if it cools slightly, but the heating will counteract this ...
In the combustion engine, the moisture is removed by mechanical compression due to the pressure difference during cooling. The moisture precipitation due to temperature cooling is likely to be too low. In the heat pump, it would also have to cool, but in winter this is nonsense and very ineffective ... or is it? As I saw some text about this the heat pump is heater and AC depending on what you need, cold or warm air …
How does it work there?
Thanks for an answer ...
