Does anyone else think Monica is mean and super materialistic?

Look, I’m not saying Stephen is great or anything. Not at all! BUT her moments with him make me want to crawl into the floor out of second hand embarrassment. The part where she tells him to stop being so chatty in their room and you can literally see the light go out in his eyes…and then she has nothing to say??

She knows he doesn’t have money and says to never buy her Kate Spade and she wants YSL and all kinds of gifts?? Also the point of love languages is to pick your most important, not to claim all of them!

Or the fireworks where he was having a conversation with someone and she was PISSED at him for not making it a romantic moment with her AND expressed it in front of other people!

I know there’s more I saw today, but how are we all feeling so bad for her that he cheated but all we’ve seen is her acting like she hates him and him acting like a kid that he’s not understanding what he did wrong? Like, she has gaslit him to an insane degree and I feel like if a guy treated a girl like that on screen we’d all be calling it out. She says she loves him and wants him but all she does is check him and put him down.

It is not okay that he cheated! But damn, what did he cheat on, but someone who is wholly disingenuous and disinterested in him?? Crazy. I have had boyfriends and dates I was “done with” and didn’t talk to them like she does him. Total lack of respect. She should have broken it off instead of just wanting to be on TV because it is so painful to watch! And I’m talking about the way she spoke to him BEFORE the cheating. After—anything she said is deserved.

To be clear: I don’t like either one of them. I just watched this cringing so hard because I have always believed that you shouldn’t disrespect your partner like that, alone or especially in front of other people…but that’s probably how they ended up here.
