Christmas Day rant

As someone that has lived in Australia and Spain I could not believe there is no public transport on Christmas Day in London.

The assumption that no one needs to get around is crazy, especially considering how diverse the population is in London and therefore a large percentage won't even be celebrating Christmas.

What about people travelling to friends and family, there are still people working, as mentioned there are still flights at airports, etc etc.

I'm also sure there are plenty of TfL staff who would be happy to work, again those that don't celebrate Christmas or those that aren't that bothered by it.

Out of interest, and coz I've got too much time on my hands, I checked some other big capital cities and the following all have services; Paris, Madrid, Berlin, NYC, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Melbourne (free travel!), Tokyo ... I'm sure there are more. Most operate some sort of Sunday or reduced service.

It's simply embarrassing.
