is it possible to have lost mel ?

i had to reload my game (without saving) while she was in town because of a slight bug, but when i loaded back, she was gone.. it's now been 5 days or so and she still hasn't reappeared in town and i haven't seen her in deluca at all. :( is there any way to get her back without completely starting over ?
