Edo-Tokyo Open Air Museum is shut??

Hello! Is the Edo-Tokyo open air mususem shut? Is there nothing one can do in and around the museum? I am a massive Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki fan who has not managed to get access to Ghibli Park and Museum on their first trip to Japan in November, I was relying on visiting this Edo-Tokyo open air museum.

What do I do? Is there really no Ghibli related places and activities in and around this museum in Tokyo? Or, even suggestions for Ghibli stuff in Kyoto or Tokyo in general, please!
