Ever left swiped on dating apps thinking the person is way out of your league?
Scrolling through dating apps, I often left-swipe profiles—not because I dislike certain things or don't find common interests, but purely because I feel the person is way out of my league.
I have a fair understanding of how I look and how people perceive me. So, even if I like someone's appearance or share a few things in common, I end up left-swiping, thinking it’s not worth it. I assume they’d never swipe right on me anyway.
I wouldn’t call this low self-esteem or lack of confidence, but rather a reality check about my chances of getting a match, which often feel close to zero. Looks play a big role, along with the gender ratio on these apps, which further reduces the odds of getting a like back as a guy. (No offense intended toward any gender or person here.)
What are your thoughts on this? Do you ever swipe left thinking, "Yeh aukaat ke bahar hai"?
