Egypt's Redemption Arc

Can we take a moment and give it up for Egypt's growth in this season?

Now, this could just be me, but in the beginning of this season, I did not like dude at all. He was always a good chef, don’t get me wrong, but his attitude. GAAAAAAHLEE! You wanna talk about arrogant and an ego? I know he was rightfully mad that his dishes weren't picked for the first couple of challenges, but even then, he tried to be the big man and establish himself as the de facto leader of the blue team way too early. Even though he could bite, he was barking way too much. He would either be an instigator, tried to talk big game, or added fuel to the already blazing fire. And the blue team, along with the other failed dinner services, challenges, and punishments humbled him.

But the big turnaround was when he was about to quit and had a heart to heart moment with Ramsey. After that conversation, Egypt changed his approach and began becoming a team player. He wasn't trying to be the big man of the blue team anymore. He started to listen to his teammates, working well with the team, and being more cool and level-headed. He quickly became one of my favorite chefs of this season. I was, and still am, rooting for him.

I think that come to Jesus moment with Ramsey was what he needed. Especially after this episode we learned that he is a Hell's Kitchen fan, I now know that he was just overly passionate about his position. Even going back to the first episode, he said he wants to show his mom that he can become something big (paraphrasing, probably poorly. can someone fact check me? plz and thank you), so he wasn't acting out of ill intent. He just got way ahead of himself, which unfortunately made him a target early on. But after he chilled out, he became a much more likeable person. He continued to show out with his cooking and barely had any problems during service.

Egypt turned from a potential villain of this season to a powerful chef and leader. His Zuko redemption arc really changed my perspective of him. He deserved the black jacket and he deserves to be in the final 3.

Did anyone else feel this way of him, or am I alone? Lmk whay you all think
