As a newbie Squad leader I've realized: Defending is much more fun than attacking
After playing HLL for about a week, I've settled into the Squad leader role. I read a few guides explaining why defending is much more important than attacking as a SL/Commander, and they are totally right.
People often think that defending is boring, and attacking is where the action is at. However, some of my most memorable games were when when I commited my squad to defend the point, often alone, against multiple enemies. Just like your team is guaranteed to rush attack, so is the enemy, so you're bound to see action. Nothing feels better than knowing YOUR squad held the line and turned a potential 2-3 loss into a 3-2 or 4-1 victory.
Not only is it fun for me and the squad, it helps out the commander a ton, and not that it matters but I get a higher K/D since it's easier to hunker down and plink heads than the other way around.
