For some reason when it comes to pretty much every other character in the show Alastor Vox Velvette Angel Husk or Valentino people who like them are fine with admitting they have done bad or straight up terrible things

and that they can still like their characters while acknowledging this yet when it comes to Adam Lute and Sera people who like them feel the need to defend them to hell and back making out like they secretly didn't do anything wrong at all

or aren't even villains and like I'm sorry but this is just getting very annoying first off its morbidly funny to me how in the slightly earlier days of the fandom anyone who openly enjoyed Val as a villain were accused of excusing his actions and behaviours

even tho I think during my time in the fandom I've seen a grand total of 1 post ever unironically making excuses for him meanwhile the Heaven trio have a crap ton of posts of people literally trying to excuse every one of their actions

actions which include Genocide and mass slaughtering of children yet unlike with Val no one really seems to be calling this out as being in bad taste when frankly it is I'm sorry but it just is.

same with pretty much every other character in the show you can enjoy characters who are bad people or have done bad things without feeling the need to defend literally everything they've done.

and yes the characters have interesting complex reasons behind their actions that can make for fun conversations but people trying to unironically claim that they literally did nothing wrong

is imo equally as gross and worthy of scorn as someone trying to claim that Val did nothing wrong or Alastor did nothing wrong or literally any of the other villains in the show.

point is I feel this is becoming way too normalised in the fandom and people who like their characters and find their motivations interesting shouldn't feel the need to over justify their love of these characters who at the end of the day are all still bad people ( again literal child murderers ).
