Why does about half the fandom want Adam dead?

I've been seeing a lot of comments lately that not only theorize him dying, but reveling in the idea. Disliking him is one thing. Having theories is also fair. But it genuinely confounds me that so many of y'all seem to want his head on a platter. I get that he's not everyone's cup of tea, but what about him inspires this bloodlust?
