First base station

Hey everyone, sorry if this is constantly asked. I’m new to ham (taking my technician in the next week) and looking to purchase a nice base station (or mobile base).

Background: I have a fair amount of experience with SDR (receiving and scrolling around), I have two baofeng, etc. I have very little experience with long distance so im interested in HF.

My budget is about 1k give or take. Any suggestions, tips, or stories about making your first DX communication would be awesome 🙏
