Where is the best place to build a base?

I've tried a few well 2 but that still counts as a few but I digress and like I'm on the water rn (gunna build highways to bypass certain assholes of the spider variety) like I straight up got butt fucked by the wolf spiders when i was going back to my base one night like TRULY butt fucked ahem sorry I digress again lol but yeah question still stands
